Winterkamel

Winter escape into the blue – Dahab is calling!

Why visit Dahab in winter?

While grey skies, cold weather and perhaps even snow dominate in Central Europe, Dahab entices visitors with warm sunshine, pleasant air temperatures of around 25°C and a sea that promises pure diving pleasure even at the beginning of the year. The north of the Sinai Peninsula offers just the right combination: a mild climate, little rain and a diving paradise right on your doorstep.

For you, that means flippers instead of snow shovels, sunscreen instead of winter jackets, and a turquoise blue house reef instead of frosty shores. Sounds like the perfect winter getaway, doesn’t it?

Legendary spots for every type of diver

Blue Hole – Dahab’s diving icon

This spot is inextricably linked to Dahab. The Blue Hole drops vertically to great depths – a highlight for advanced divers, but beginners can also dive here spectacularly and safely!
For you with us, that means: Of course, no risky “arch” crossing (we have our colleagues from Lagona-Divers-Technical.com for that) – but as part of a day trip with an experienced guide, exploring the impressive wall, enjoying the crystal-clear water and feeling like you are diving in a real legend.

The Canyon – pure adventure, but accessible

Located just north of the Blue Hole, only a few minutes from Tropitel Dahab Oasius, “The Canyon” is a spectacular fissure in the reef plateau – great for divers who want a little more excitement but still want to be safe.
For your winter getaway, this means starting the morning with a leisurely, easy dive, then taking the guided canyon route in the afternoon – a wonderful combination of discovery and safety.

Lighthouse Reef – ideal for relaxed dives and beginners

This dive site is perfect for relaxing underwater moments. The entry point is easy, and the terrain is ideal for repeat divers or non-divers accompanying them.
For you: perhaps a course or a leisurely exploratory dive in the morning, followed by time for coffee on the beach, reading, soaking up the sun – completely relaxed.

Family atmosphere & flexible diving packages at Lagona Divers

In Dahab, you won’t find bustling large-scale resorts, but rather a warm and welcoming atmosphere. At Lagona Divers, we work directly with our local team – offering personalised support, small groups and genuine advice to ensure your winter getaway is a success.

Our flexible packages offer you, among other things:

  • More dives per week – depending on available holiday time
  • Combination of house reef & day trip (e.g. Canyon/Blue Hole)
  • Diving courses (e.g. SSI Open Water, SSI Advanced Open Water) as an introduction or refresher course
  • Alternative breaks: snorkelling, beach day, desert tour

This means that partners or family members are also well catered for if not everyone wants to do three dives a day.

Your winter break – this is what it could look like

  • Arrival in Dahab in December or January: pleasant air temperature of 24–26°C, sea water still a “warm friend”.
  • Day 1: Check in at Lagona Divers, house reef in the afternoon, first dive at the Lighthouse – no stress, just safety.
  • Day 2: Relaxed morning, afternoon day trip to the canyon zone – impressive reef landscape.
  • Day 3: Hop on the boat and spend an exciting and relaxing day on our dive boat with up to 3 dives.
