The Dive Centre
Since 2001 you can find our diving centre Lagona Divers – Dahab South at the beach of Happy Life Village. The dive centre is designed for up to 80 divers to enjoy their diving holiday in Dahab during holiday periods. When you check in, we welcome you in our large reception area with adjoining shop. The dive centre is equipped with two classrooms where our instructors have all the necessary tools to provide the best service to our clients who want to learn to dive.
To make the diving process as fluid as possible, we have two large rinsing basins where you can wash out your diving equipment after your dive trip. For the storage of the equipment we provide a wet room for diving suits and for the ABC equipment a large room where every guest finds enough space to store his box. After the dive we offer you free Bedouin tea on our large terrace. You can enjoy this either in our typical Bedouin corner or at one of the many cosy round tables.
House reef
Our house reef is only 150m away from the dive centre. Access is via a 30m long jetty. The fringing reef slopes down to about 3m near the shore and merges into a sloping sandy area that offers an incredible number of small and large coral blocks. Even in the shallows you can spend a lot of time discovering everything from snails to lionfish and ghost ragfish. From a depth of 18 – 20m, the sandy area changes to a compact reef, which slopes down to 45m at a 60 degree angle.
Due to this diversity of sandy areas with coral blocks and the compact reef with quick accessibility of depth, our house reef offers something for everyone. Even for the non-diving family members, the house reef offers hours of snorkelling pleasure due to the shallow fringing reef. Experienced divers may also enjoy unguided dives with a buddy team on our house reef, subject to certain regulations.

Kerstin
Kerstin comes from Austria and discovered her love of the sea at a very early age. She was inspired mainly by watching Jacque Cousteau films endlessly, which eventually led to a Master’s degree in marine biology. The next logical step was to start diving, which changed her entire life. Trying to escape the cold lakes of Austria, she travelled the world for a while, finally arriving in the warm waters of Egypt in 2012.
Together with Andy, Kerstin is responsible for the management of the Lagona Divers – Dahab South base in the area of recreational diving and, as an SSI Instructor Trainer, conducts the Instructor Courses. In addition, she takes care of the training in the field of technical diving, where she passes on her knowledge to her students as an Instructor Trainer for the organisations SSI XR, IANTD and TDI. Her greatest passion, however, is closed circuit scuba diving. As an instructor on X-CCR and Hollis PrismII, she can train interested rebreather divers up to hypoxic CCR diver. In addition, she is the only registered service technician in Egypt for the X-CCR.

Andy’s enthusiasm for diving started in the Swiss lakes in 2008. Nach vier Jahren Tauchen in den schönen, aber doch sehr dunkeln und kalten Seen beschloss er, dass es Zeit für einen Wechsel wäre und zog im Jahr 2012 nach Dahab, um auf der sonnigen Seite des Lebens zu arbeiten. Together with Kerstin, he manages the recreational diving area for the Lagona Divers – Dahab South base and is responsible for our instructor courses as an SSI Instructor Trainer.
In the field of technical diving he is also responsible for the training of our guests as Instructor Trainer for IANTD and Advanced Trimix Instructor at TDI. He takes care of all your needs with great empathy, whether it’s your first diving attempts with the double tank or a guided technical dive to 130m.
