What has long been practised in wreck and cave diving is now being discovered by more and more recreational divers: easy, pleasant and weightless diving without feeling the weight of the diving equipment on your back – who wouldn’t want to experience this? Specialised training is required to be able to do this type of diving safely. This is offered with the SSI speciality course Recreational Sidemount.
In theory lessons you will learn all about the background, history, advantages and equipment of sidemount diving. In practice, you will then learn how to configure your equipment and handle it in the water. You will quickly realise that the comfortable buoyancy control and easier movement will give you a whole new diving experience.

4 dives are required for the course.
Our specialty trainings are – like almost our entire diving programme – modular. Book your specialty and the dives necessary for the practical training you take from your dive package or book them separately on site. Just as you like!
Diving courses must be booked and prepaid at least 3 working days before arrival. Unfortunately we cannot accept later bookings and we reserve the right to cancel them. For courses, please remember that we will activate your course material as soon as we have received your payment and you can then start your theory lessons immediately.
For bookings at short notice, please also contact our service centre to arrange the start of the course.
Refund conditions for diving packages, courses and specialities (diving services):
Diving packages will be refunded in full minus a processing fee of 35 euros per package. A refund of partially used packages is excluded.
We will refund fully or partially unused diving courses and specialities as follows:
SSI registrations and digital teaching material remain valid for 3 months for Rental Kits and for life for Diamond Kits. These price components are therefore non-refundable. We will refund the course fee minus the kit price according to the currently valid SSI price list.
These are examples (as at 04/2025):
- OWD course: 180 Euro
- Specialty with digital material: 91 Euro
- Specialty without digital material: 46 Euro
Training dives carried out will be charged according to the price list on site.
Refunds must be made no later than 30 days after the return date printed on the voucher. After this date, unused services expire without compensation.
Our group rates also apply to this package.
What is considered a group at Lagona Divers?
We do not define groups (only) by the number of participants. Rather, we consider the joint booking of several dive packages and/or courses as one group. This means that our group rates can also be applied to a small number of buddies.
