25 years anniversary

Lagona Divers was founded in November 1994 in Dahab.
In 1995, the now sole owner Christian took over a small share of the base, which at that time was located exclusively in Lagona Village. Today, under his leadership and with the help of a highly motivated team, a small but well known group of dive centres has developed.

To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are launching a 12-month special offer in November 2019 with changing booking offers. Especially our home location Dahab is close to our hearts.

17.03.2018: No mobile internet on Bali and airport closed

Due to the Hindu holiday Nyepi (“Day of Silence”), the airport in Denpasar will be closed on Saturday from six o’clock in the morning. Affected are at least 482 flights, including 244 domestic and 238 international.

DENPASAR (dpa) – Chatting with friends, sharing selfies or streaming music on the go – all this will not happen on Saturday on the holiday island of Bali. Mobile operators on the Indonesian island have agreed to shut down all of Bali’s mobile Internet in Bali during Nyepi’s Balinese New Year, according to I Nyoman Sujaya, head of Bali’s Information Bureau.

Nyepi is a n important feast in Hinduism in Bali and is also called the “day of silence”: Hindu devotees do not leave their homes, fast, be silent and do not use light. Public life on the island comes to a standstill. Also, tourists are expected to comply with the curfew.

The Internet shutdown goes back to an initiative of the Indonesian Hindu Society PHDI. She had already requested to shut down the internet at Nyepi last year – also so that tourists do not take selfies on the holy day, local media reported. Now the authorities agreed to this for the first time. Most Indonesians are Muslims, but Bali is largely Hindu.

Bali will not be completely offline that day. In some hotels wireless hotspots should continue to work. Also in the public service, hospitals, the security authorities and in the financial system the Internet is not disconnected.

Enter Egypt with E-Visa

Egypt’s President El-Sisi officially launched the new e-visa on 03.12.2017 during the “Information and Communication Technology Conference” in Cairo. It is intended as an alternative to the “visa on arrival” and should speed up the entry at the airports. Tourists from 46 countries, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France, can now apply for their visa in advance on the Internet. After entering the required information and paying the fee by credit or debit card, applicants will be sent a link to download their visa. The printed document will then be presented upon entry. The one-time entry fee is $ 25, with multiple entry fees $ 60. It is recommended to submit the visa application at least seven days before arrival.

Still possible: For stays up to 14 days with us in Dahab no paid visa is needed. The VISA stamp still is provided free of charge for such stays. The easiest way to get it is to write “Sinai only” on the back of the entry card which you receive on the plane.

You can apply for the E-Visa here: Visa 2 Egypt
